Purvanchal state cabinet reshuffled; former MP Hanif Ali appointed state minister

Rajagriha, 24 August 2025: Chief Minister Maha Sri Indra Tushar Deka today reshuffled his six-month-old state cabinet for the first time this morning, 24th August 2025. A gazette notification issued by the state Governor, Aryasri Maha Sri Reshma Sultana, on behalf of the Regent, Her Royal Highness The Princess Karishma, Princess Mother, announced that the Chief Minister had advised the Regent to accept the resignation of State Minister of Culture and Arts, Minority Welfare, and Social Welfare departments, Nida Fatima from the cabinet.

Meanwhile, former Member of Parliament Hanif Ali Palowan, who earlier represented the Goshala constituency in the 12th Lok Sabha, was appointed as a State Minister. He has been entrusted the portfolios of Minority Welfare, Religious Affairs, and Social Welfare departments.

The Chief Minister, Maha Sri Indra Tushar Deka who was also in charge of the departments of Home, General Administration, and Administrative Reforms, and also held the additional charge of the departments of Finance, Development, Science, Technology, and IT since June this year, following the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Paramsri Maha Indra Yash Agarwal, will now be in charge of the departments of Finance, General Administration and Administrative Reforms, Development, and Local Administration and Capital Region Development.

Senior state minister Nitin Kumar will now be in charge of the Home, Education, Legal Affairs, and Science, Technology and IT departments, while his cabinet colleague Jatin S. Naik will now be in charge of the Sports and Recreation, Environment, and Culture and Arts departments.
