Prime Minister Arya'i completes one month in office; here's a recap of all events in August 2026

Rajagriha, 13 September 2026: The union government headed by Prime Minister Singhasri Amir Abbas Arya'i, Duke of Mahvar, has completed a highly successful month in office on 1st September 2026. Arya'i assumed the premiership, succeeding Singhasri Maahir Samarth, Duke of Nowpeshia, on 1st August 2026. Since assuming office, he has taken the helm of affairs and brought the nation back to life. Over this past month, Prime Minister Arya'i, along with his colleagues and the bureaucrats, has initiated numerous measures and programmes aimed at enhancing the overall productivity of the nation. These measures include both internal and external reform initiatives, diplomatic outreach, and armed forces reforms. Under successive premierships since 2024, Vishwamitra has seen immense failures and less motivation for reforms in governance. Prime Minister Arya'i can be credited with bringing back energy and life to a dying body.
In this regard, the activities from the past month can be considered to be highly productive in comparison with the events in the last two years. Cabinet Secretary Maha Indra Luke Wellmoore, Baron Wellmoore of Gwent, summarised the activities in his report.
August was a month of sustained government momentum, marked by active Cabinet coordination, progress in foreign affairs, and the initiation of reform of the Civil Service and Armed Forces.
The Prime Minister himself took over the initiative to reach out to ally countries and also forge newer alliances with states. In this approach, soon after assuming office, the Prime Minister exchanged correspondence with his Baustralian counterpart, Sir Sean O'Neill, and both premiers agreed upon contributing to strengthening the scope and dimension of the bilateral relations. The Prime Minister also exchanged correspondence with Imrulian President Showib Ahmmed upon his re-election to office and Imruland's successful conduct of its first-ever presidential election since transitioning as a republic in 2025. The Prime Minister also invited President Showib Ahmmed to the annual governmental summit between the two nations. At the same time, relations with Vishwamitra's closest geographical ally, Imruland, are expected to reach new heights with Rashtradhyaksh Varuna Sriraya's planned state visit to the Bengali nation. The visit, initially planned around 11-14 September, was rescheduled to later this year or earlier next year. Diplomatic efforts with one of Vishwamitra's long-time stalemates, Misberia, proved highly successful, culminating in the signing of a formal treaty between the two nations in addition to the development of warm bilateral ties. Both nations re-agreed to normalise their relations after years of distance. Expansion of the bureaucratic structure is yet another key success of this government. Soon after taking over, the Prime Minister appointed Maha Indra Luke Wellmoore, Baron Wellmoore of Gwent, as the Cabinet Secretary; Uttama Sri Luo Yiming, Baron Yiming, as Foreign Secretary; and Shane Torres as Defence Secretary. At the same time, the Armed Forces Council was revitalised and reconstituted. In continuation, the Prime Minister further assigned additional charge as Home Secretary to Cabinet Secretary Maha Indra Luke Wellmoore, Baron Wellmoore of Gwent and placed him in charge of all internal reforms. He was tasked with a special assignment to develop a comprehensive plan for the reform of the civil service. Building on the mandate issued soon after taking over, the Ministry of Defence concluded the month by presenting a formal reform proposal with a clear timeline and a defined set of proposed actions for armed forces revival and their reform to ensure activity and functionality. Senior Minister and Defence Minister Singhasri Suryadeva Kapei, Duke of Mayurasri, drafted and presented the proposal, which was accepted by the Prime Minister, who approved further work in line with what had been proposed. The Prime Minister highlighted the proposal as strongly aligned with his initial vision for the armed forces, commending the Defence Minister and Defence Secretary for their work. With all these bureaucratic, foreign, and defence initiatives in the very first month of assuming office, the Prime Minister had placed a higher benchmark for successive months and had deliberately tasked members of the government and his staff to achieve their assigned goals and perform their responsibilities to their fullest capabilities. However, less cooperation and communication with several members of the government often make it difficult for the fullest attainment of the goals and ambitions. In the upcoming months, it is widely expected that the Prime Minister will propose a general election and subsequently reshuffle his cabinet.
