First ASAM Summit successfully held


13 December 2020, Rajagriha: The first summit of the Association of South Asian Micronations (ASAM) was successfully held yesterday with participation from five out of the six members of the organization. The host of the first summit was the State of Vishwamitra and the Chair of the event was His Majesty Dhrubajyoti Roy, the Monarch of Vishwamitra who is also the Chairman of the association. The nations which attended the summit are as follows: 1. The State of Vishwamitra (host & Chairman)

2. The Micronation of the Avigation Vision of Radiator (Vice Chairman)

3. The People's Republic of Arsalania (full member)

4. The Kingdom of Gazuland (full member)

5. The Principality of Ferthroy (observer)

The summit was scheduled to begin at 6.30 PM Indian Standard Time (1.00 PM UTC), however due to some technical issues, it was shifted to 7.00 PM IST (1.30 PM UTC) and took place over Google Meet.


The summit began formally with the National Anthem of the host-nation of Vishwamitra, following which there were remarks from all attendees. It was during the opening remarks that all members pledged to contribute to the South Asian community which is one of the most neglected and least known communities of the micronational sphere. It was also correctly pointed out by a member that since the foundation of the organization in August this year, the organization has been doing very well and it is believed that it will achieve its goals soon.


Before the beginning of the formal set of events, obituary remarks were made in respect to Nicholas Randouler (Nicholas I of Posaf), Maria Birch of Misberia, Raniel I of Tovaria and Louis Philippe I of Saint-Castin. The Chairman highlighted their contributions towards the community and that their passing away has been great loss for the entire community.


The formal set of events began with the hosting of the quorum in which the following proposal were made:

PROPOSAL I: "Appointment of A. Abbas Mirza as National President, Pakistan Micronational Community" was adopted by the quorum of members.

PROPOSAL II: "Appointment of Archit Babu Merciful as National President, Nepal Micronational Community" was adopted by the quorum of members.

PROPOSAL III: "Appointment of Prince Remi as Representative to Southeast Asia" was adopted by the quorum of members.

The host-Dhrubajyoti Roy then proposed for an immediate official election for the office of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the organization, with the observer nation of Ferthroy being assigned power to vote for the election of the top officials. Accordingly, it was proposed that "The current Chair and Vice-Chair be re-elected to office." The motion was adopted in a vote division of 3-0-2 (3 votes in favour, and two in abstain). Following the motion, it was declared that incumbent Chair Dhrubajyoti Roy is re-elected to office, along with Vice-Chairman Vishwam Khandelwal (of the Micronation of the AVR).


The Vice-Chair and delegate from AVR, then proposed the formation of a committee on climate change which was adopted by the quorum of members in a majority vote. Following which, it was directed by the Chair that the delegate from AVR, Mr. Vishwam Khandelwal shall chair the committee on climate change and environment. The Chairman also proposed the formation of a "Governing Council" comprising of the Vice-Chairman, and Presidents of the national organizations and representatives to various sub-regions of the geographic territories of Asia.


The delegate from Gazuland proposed the creation of a "Micronational Court of Justice" (MCJ) to deal with judicial duties of the organization and other nations, however the proposal was unable to be adopted and it was suggested that it be taken up sometimes later. It was also suggested that the delegate from Gazuland be responsible for drafting the judiciary section of the Charter of the organization.


The observer delegate from Ferthroy proposed the creation of a social media cell for the organization and was adopted by the quorum. It was also directed that the Vice Chair, Vishwam Khandelwal be in-charge of handling the organization's Twitter handle whereas the facebook page be handled by the Ferthroy delegate, Prince Remi. It was also suggested by Supreme Leader A. Abbas Mirza of Arsalania proposed the creation of culture and language committee which shall focus on cultural exchanges amongst the member-nations.


Towards the end of the meeting, the members also decided that summit-level meetings be held every three months, with the first of those being held next month (that is, in January 2021). It was also decided that the 2nd ASAM Summit be hosted by the Micronation of the AVR and the summit is likely to be held in the end of January 2021. The Chair thanked all members for their presence in the meeting and also to actively participate in the meeting.


The Association of South Asian Micronations (ASAM) is a regional organization of micronations from South Asia founded on 25 August 2020. The organization aims at promoting of peace, prosperity and friendship through unity. It also aims to promote the South Asian micronational community on the global micronational sphere.
