Extraordinary Session of the Parliament - 13th September 2020


Purvanchal, September 13, 2020:

The Parliament today met for an extraordinary session, which was chaired by the Rashtradhyaksh H.M. Dhrubajyoti Roy. This was the first meeting of the Parliament which was constituted on 19th March 2020 after the General Elections which ushered a victory for the National People's Congress.


The parliament session was attended by the Sah-Rashtradhyaksh H.M. Tanishkaa Patranabish, Rajpramukhs of Uttaranchal, Madhya Prant, Kamrupa - H.R.H. Bishnu Chetry, H.R.H. Arnab Sil, H.R.H. Anirban Phatowali respectively, Prime Minister H.R.H. Princess Anoushkaa, Deputy Prime Minister H.R.H. Prince Abhiraj, Senior Ministers Nishwan Baidantic & Ankurjyoti Thakuria, Cabinet Ministers and other members. The Minister of State for Royal Affairs Princess Bishakha Das was also present.


The session began by remembering the late H.R.H. Prince Nicholas I of Posaf, Dame Maria Birch of Misberia, Former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and all those who lost their lives in the fight against COVID-19 Pandemic, in safeguarding their motherlands, in the Beirut Blast.

The official business began by observing a minute of silence in their memory.


The following bills were introduced and adopted by a majority vote:

  1. Amendment of the State Decorations Act, 2020 to provide posthumous decorations

  2. Sister City Projects which like minded nations

  3. LGBT+ rights bill

The Parliament rejected the proposed establishment of nobility bill.


A special committee was formed under the Chairmanship of the Rashtradhyaksh, and the Sah-Rashtradhyaksh, Rajpramukh of Uttaranchal, Prime Minister & Senior Minister Nishwan Baidantic as members, to discuss and vote on all kind of treaties that the State shall sign from now onwards.


The Rajpramukh of Uttaranchal H.R.H. Bishnu Chetry was unanimously elected the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the New Constitution.


The Parliament was adjourned sine die by the Rashtradhyaksh soon after.
